Chadaway Cup 2010

After weeks of preparation the team arrived at the Club with high expectations of taking the title away from Hinckley and from the first tee it was clear that we were facing strong opposition with excellent drives from all the teams involved. However, by the end of the evening the result became clear to all; thanks to some truly fantastic rounds of golf, most notably from Kieren Bruce who carded a net 61! Contributions also came from both Mike Probart and Danny Pritchard who both played below their handicaps to help bring the trophy back home to Nuneaton.

Overall it was truly a great night for all the players, caddies and spectators to remember and we look forward to defending the title at Atherstone. Thanks to all who gave up their time to act as caddies and spotters to help the event to run smoothly.

SWJL 2010

The South Warwickshire Junior League (SWJL) is the team league in which Nuneaton Juniors compete. Every year Nuneaton put in a huge amount of effort to compete in 12 league matches an a finals day played at one of the member clubs of the league.

A league match consists of 8 players playing in singles match play; the first 6 compete in the SWJL whilst the final 2 play in the reserve league. Over the last few years Nuneaton have had mixed fortunes following up second place in 2007 with last place in 2008 and 2009. However, at time of press we are sitting close 2nd with high hope of claiming the title by the ned of the season!

The final day will be held at Kenilworth Golf Club with gross and nett prizes in both the individual and team sections with Nuneaton traditionally performing well in the nett. We hope that the next few seasons will prove to be highly successful for Nuneaton in the Junior League with the team going from strength to strength.
