The 2011 season has now started. The SWJL is underway with Nuneaton putting together strong wins against Finham and Hearsall which is a great start to the season. We hope to continue this success throughout the forthcoming months. There are many more fixtures to play in the near future, which I'm sure we can continue to do well in. We now have a huge variety of players who are competing for places in the team, which is always a positive sign. Due to this competition, we are already starting to look at selection for events such as the Chadaway Cup, and Finals Day which this year takes place at Stratford Golf Club. Both events are taken seriously so strong teams will be put out for both. We hope to retain the Chadaway Cup this year when we play at Atherstone, and improve on last year's result in Final's Day.

Throughout the holidays there are many events that the juniors can get involved in. Every Friday morning there is junior competition and everybody is welcome. First tee off is 9:00. Turn up, pay, play and enjoy. These competitions are a great way to meet new people and become more integrated within the club. Also the LEGY Cup is always a fantastic and enjoyable day. The juniors are able to compete against the other sections of the club, and we will be hoping to win back the cup. As well as an enjoyable round of golf, a charity race night will also be going ahead in the clubhouse. However there is a twist - instead of using a big screen, a handful of juniors will be dressing up as horses and running around a track. So come along, place your bets and see how the night unfolds! Overall the season ahead looks to be very promising. We have a very strong section and are really looking forward to contesting to win the SWJL. The year ahead is shaping up nicely, so come down and make some new friends. But most importantly come and enjoy playing golf!
